Frequently asked questions
The short version of what HumanProof is and how it treats your identity.
What is HumanProof?
A reusable proof-of-human layer. You prove once that you’re a real, unique person, and our two demos can reuse that credential in the same environment. See how it works.
Do you store my name, face, or ID?
HumanProof does not receive face images, legal names or ID documents. We do store your chosen ENS name, account identifier, salted human fingerprint, unfinished setup and receipts. Public reviews and chain activity may be linked to you. World handles the personhood check; staging is active for the browser demo and Sandbox remains available for phone verification. The server pins each environment separately.
What stops one person from making many accounts?
Each proof is tied to a per-person secret, so the same human resolves to the same credential. That’s what lets the airdrop enforce one claim per person and the reviews app keep out review farms — the block is keyed to the person, not the wallet.
Can I read without HumanProof, and post more than once?
Yes. Proofit is readable without signing in, including by bots and AI agents. Ordinary sign-in is available. Only posting needs HumanProof, and different posts about the same product are allowed. Retrying identical content recovers its existing receipt.
Is this on mainnet? Is PROOF worth anything?
This is a hackathon demo running on a test network. The PROOF token is a demo token with no monetary value, and the airdrop exists to show the one-per-human mechanic — not to distribute anything of worth.
Can I use HumanProof in my own app?
That’s the idea. The developer page explains the current same-origin API. An external SDK and cross-domain sign-in are future work.
